What is Microneedling? Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment that involves poking very fine holes into the skin in order to rejuvenate the skin. Now it’s time for the fun part! The microscopic holes created during the Microneedling treatment, which provide access to deeper parts of the tissue, remain open for about an hour. This access time is one of Crystalʼs favorite parts of the process because she can add “insult to your deliberate skin injury.” But seriously, Microneedling is like aerating a lawn to add additional nutrients deeper into the soil.

The goals of the Microneedling treatment will determine what type of nutrients will be applied to complete the treatment. Letʼs look at the options:

  • Apply a light chemical peel to facilitate and enhance the shedding of the epidermis
  • Add nutrition and antioxidants to encourage collagen growth and healthier skin
  • Include melanin inhibitors to penetrate deeper into the skin to slow the production of melanin

Master aesthetician Crystal will discuss your treatment goals and options with you to achieve the best results!

Why would I choose microneedling?

Microneedling may sound scary but there have been hundreds of published research studies demonstrating its effectiveness when conducted in a safe and sterile environment. Microneedling is a fabulous option because the treatment is suitable and safer for all skin tones and skin types.

What is involved with the microneedling process?

The process of microneedling involves using a hand-held device that is moved across the skin in a stamping action to create microscopic holes. The needle depth into the skin can be controlled depending on the desired outcome. Additionally, the number of passes of the device over the skin will vary based on treatment level (e.g., mild, moderate, aggressive). There will be pinpoint bleeding at the puncture site but the bleeding will not continue.
