Why would I choose to have a chemical peel treatment?
Before a receiving a chemical peel treatment, a few factors to consider are your overall general health, your skin type, how deep you want the chemical peel to work, the time you can commit to post-treatment recovery, and what concerns you have about the appearance of your skin. Crystal will consult with you and recommend a chemical peel strength that will be the safest and most effective for you and your specific skincare needs. If a chemical peel treatment is not the most ideal solution for you, Crystal will recommend an alternative treatment that will provide similar results.
What level of chemical peel is best?
In general, a medium or strong chemical peel typically produces the best results when targeting fine lines and acne scars. The best chemical peel for you will vary based on your specific skin issues and cosmetic goals. For first-time patients, it is recommended to try a lighter peel to see what you think of the experience and the results. From there, you and Crystal can tweak your treatment plan to discover the best type of peel for your needs. After a thorough consultation, Master aesthetician Crystal Rigby and her team, will help you select which chemical peel treatment is right for your skin.

Questions & Support
Chemical peels sound painful, are they?
Based on the customized chemical solutions used, you might have some discomfort during the treatment process. You will feel a level of heat while the solution is applied to the skin. A small fan is used during the treatment to provide some relief from what feels like a burning sensation. Once the desired result is achieved, the solution will be neutralized and then washed away.
What is the best way to plan for the post-effects of a chemical peel?
Depending on the level of the chemical peel treatment determines the duration of the symptoms and the healing time. It should be expected to experience a sunburn-like effect after receiving a chemical peel. There will be redness and the treated area may be sensitive to touch. The treated area will begin to dry out and slough off on its own. It is important to keep the treated area moisturized, always wear sunscreen when going outside, and avoid direct sunlight after receiving a chemical peel. Absolutely DO NOT peel off the skin before it is ready. To prevent unwanted scarring or additional discomfort, be patient and let nature work its magic! Once the healing process of a chemical peel is complete, clients will notice brighter and healthier-looking skin.
